Meet Caroline, our runner for London Marathon 2018
We are delighted to introduce Caroline from Buckinghamshire, who will be running the London Marathon on behalf of Enrych on 22 April 2018.
She is currently training hard for the big day – not an easy task in the winter snow and wind – and you can sponsor her by going to www.virginmoneygiving.com and searching for Enrych or click here to go to her page (opens a new window)
“..raise money for a local charity and see what a difference that money will make to local people”
Tell us about yourself, Caroline
I started running about 6 years ago and only ever had the intention of running 5K to keep fit and healthy. I decided to join Lakeside Runners in Milton Keynes so I would have people to run with on the dark winter nights. I soon saw other people in the club doing amazing things like half marathons and full marathons and knew if they could do it so could I!
Have you run any marathons before?
In 2014 I ran my first marathon in Milton Keynes and have now ran a total of 8 marathons many of which have been across Europe including Berlin, Paris, Dublin, Warsaw etc.
I’ve also now qualified as a personal trainer and work part time for AD Fitness in Kempston where I also run Couch To 5K course and pass my passion of running onto others.
What made you decide to run for Enrych in 2018?
I ran the London Marathon back in 2015 and I jumped at the opportunity to run it again in 2018. Not only for the personal achievement but to also help raise money for a local charity and to be able to see what a difference that money will make to local people.
Our very deep thanks to Caroline, and wishing her all the best in her training

Our Chair of Trustees, Dr Stephen Large writes
I am delighted to share with you our Enrych Annual Report, celebrating 30 years of supporting disabled people. I think it is a remarkable document. To me it is extraordinary how much we have achieved. It is good to be able to talk about so many success stories, and areas of growth, despite the difficult economic climate. I would personally like to thank everyone who has been a part of this success, and especially to those who have shared their stories here.
Do you enjoy a stroll around the park in Swindon?
We have 2 lovely ladies with visual impairments and some mobility issues who need a volunteer once or twice a month to spare an hour to accompany them for a walk around the local parks in Old Town, Swindon. They enjoy a chat and fresh air but are not confident to do this on their own. If you would like an excuse to get out and have a cup of tea, a chat and enjoy our parks then please get in touch with Jo Heaven, Enrych Project Co-ordinator on 07771804365 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
